Major Functions:

As the Education and Outreach Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the Schools Programme team in various initiatives and programs aimed at educating and engaging school communities about sustainable practices. You will be working to streamline processes, expand outreach efforts, and digitize content in order to increase the impact of the team’s work.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of educational materials and resources for various sustainability programs and initiatives.
  • Support the team in planning and executing outreach events and activities, including workshops, presentations, and school engagement events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement educational and outreach initiatives.
  • Streamline processes and improve project management systems to enhance the efficiency of the team’s work.
  • Develop and implement digital strategies to increase the reach and impact of the team’s work, including website development, social media management, and digital content creation.
  • Assist with co-ordinating and eventually leading outdoor engagement activities for students.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform the development of new programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on program metrics and outcomes to demonstrate impact and inform future strategies.

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in sustainability and environmental issues, with a desire to learn more about sustainable practices and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely for a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with technology and a willingness to learn new digital tools and platforms.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing educational materials and resources, including knowledge of best practices in educational program design and evaluation.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in teaching, hosting or nature guiding is a plus!
