Job Description


Your mission during this flight:

You are a Senior System engineer experienced in the development of complex systems and you are passionate about making a difference in eVTOL aviation. You have substantial experience in system architecture and requirements engineering and a profound knowledge of the verification and validation aspects in aviation, and in particular avionics systems. Within a multi-disciplinary team, you will coordinate between the various teams and systems to ensure a successful certification of the avionics systems of the Volocopter aircraft.

Tasks:

  • You will handle internal system engineering process aligned with development lifecycle needs, including requirements management and program milestone deliverables
  • You will facilitate the integration activities of the newly developed and COTS equipment (e.g. planning the integration tests, review of the test procedures, environmental qualification gap analysis, and others) on equipment level and aircraft level
  • You will as the liaison between the lab test team and the flight test team to coordinate verification activities
  • You will support the validation and overseeing the verification activities of the whole Avionics system
  • You will support the system level / component level milestones (e.g., PDR / CDR / TRR)
  • You will support the development assurance activities (e.g. system audits with authorities for ARP-4754A compliance demonstration)
  • You will generate compliance evidence for the certification (certification plan, test plans, design reviews, analysis reports etc.)
  • You will provide support for formal audits and exchanges with EASA

Qualifications


Check in your professional skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in aerospace development
  • Good knowledge and practical expertise on the system development lifecycle according to ARP4754A
  • Experience in the Avionics functions and technology for the communication, navigation, surveillance, indication, crew alerting, and data recording
  • Knowledge of the certification deliverables for the Type Certificate programs in CS-25/23/29/27 programs
  • Knowledge of the aviation standards such as ARP4761 and DO-160
  • Thorough analytical skills and a structured approach for “getting things done”
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Preferred:

  • Experience with software and airborne electronic hardware standards DO-178 and DO-254
  • Experience in working in EASA approved Design Organization (Part21J) is preferable
