Responsibilities:
  • The responsibilities of the Customs Compliance Professional are very dynamic and not exhaustive, but among other initiatives, you will be responsible for:
  • Customs Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert, effectively addressing and handling customs issues in Brazil.
  • Customs Brokers Management: Support, coordinate, and monitor the performance of customs brokers.
  • Special Customs Regimes: Implement and monitor special customs regimes operations.
  • Sales Business Units Support: Assist the Sales Business Units with due diligence calculations and reviewing new agreements.
  • Process Development: Participate in developing concepts and processes to support reducing overall operating costs.
  • Import Service Reduction Applications: Evaluate and prepare new applications for import service reductions (Ex-tarifario; LETEC, LEBIT/BK, etc).Operational Strategy: facilitate customs operation strategy in the country.
  • Customs Audits: Prepare for and handle customs audits in a timely manner.
  • Legislation Monitoring: Monitor changes in legislation that impact the business and ensure relevant stakeholders are kept updated and proper actions are taken.
  • AEO Certification Monitoring: Monitor the requirements of existing AEO certifications and ensure its successful maintenance.

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate should ideally possess:
  • Experience: At least 7 years of extensive and solid experience in customs, preferably in a global company in the heavy industry (Energy, Oil&Gas, Heavy Machinery) or in Trade and Customs Consulting (with operational background and hand-on attitude).
  • Education: At least a bachelor's degree in International Relations, International Trade or related field.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of International Trade and Brazilian Customs legislation.

  • Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are preferrable.
  • Decision-Making: Great decision-making sense and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Hands-On Approach: Hands-on and multitasking attitude, with a commitment to results.
  • Fast and Agile Thinking: Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing circumstances efficiently.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to maneuver and communicate among internal stakeholders and authorities,
  • Process Development: Ability to outline processes and suggest implementation strategies.
  • Time Management: Capacity to keep an overview of open tasks and prioritize those with time-sensitive needs.
