The Test and Release Management area is part of the Applications, Controls & Electrical (ACE) product development organization, encapsulating the IT/OT/data capabilities and future digital technology roadmaps for Vestas' products. We seek a Test Manager to continue our journey towards Continues Testing excellence for Vestas' software products.

The Test and Release Management sub-module supports and collaborates with all software modules to seek influence on, create insight into, and heighten the maturity of the SW verification and validation processes by:

  • Evaluating the maturity of the current test process in the modules and giving input to adjustments
  • Involving in stage/gate process to ensure test management influence and SW verification and validation focus
  • Supporting and targeting the needed initiatives to improve the module and cross-module test process
  • Creating a focus on transparency and insights into the test processes

You will be part of a team of release and test managers who collaborate closely to mature our capabilities in delivering secure and high-quality SW. The team consists of approximately 10 people and is located in Aarhus, Denmark, and Porto, Portugal.


Responsibilities

You will be one of the key drivers in setting the direction for verification, validation, and certification in the area that develops all turbine and power plant software in Vestas. You will take part in creating the test plans and overall test approach in projects and will be managing end-to-end production readiness verification. You will provide thought leadership and expertise to colleagues on any aspect of testing and processes, including training for testers and developers where appropriate. You will collaborate with stakeholders both internally across Vestas R&D and externally throughout the global organization and partners.

  • Engage in the development and execution of cross-module test strategy with a high focus on automation
  • Guide the enabling of test data management, test environment management, and test automation
  • Identify and support the implementation of "shift left" activities in our development units
  • Facilitate and engage in conversations about test effort, coverage, and approach
  • Foster cross-functional relationships

Qualifications

Relevant education at Master level (5 years) + minimum 5 years of experience working with test management in a relevant context


To qualify for this role, you should have solid experience in several of the following areas:

  • Cross-department test strategy development and execution
  • Automation frameworks and regression testing suit
  • Development of testing standards and guidelines
  • Managing test environments
  • Implementation and usage of Test management tool(s)
  • Interacting effectively with executives and functional peer groups to gain commitment
  • Agile software development methodologies and DevOps

The job requires influencing others outside their area on policies, practices, and procedures.

Certifications within test management (ISTQB/TMAP certification) are ideal but not a requirement.

Furthermore, you should have experience working in large organizations and with technical leadership.

Language skills: Fluent in English (written and oral)
