Tower Module in Vestas Power Solutions is developing and maintaining the complete Vestas tower program. Tower Technology is a pivotal sub-department with 15+ highly skilled engineers in Aarhus, Denmark, and Chennai, India.

In collaboration with many stakeholders, we are responding to market requirements by developing Vesta's new design methodologies, future tower concepts, and technological solutions for the next generation of wind turbines. We oversee a broad portfolio of technical projects, and our tasks range from preparing scope, requirement specifications, and business cases to structural engineering and highly specialized FEM calculations.


Responsibilities

Developing new tower concepts, such as concrete-steel hybrid towers, is essential in the continued endeavor to enhance customer satisfaction and minimize the levelized cost of renewable energy. As a Technical Lead Engineer in Tower Technology, you will have a high-profile position responsible for all technical aspects of projects optimizing tower designs and design methodologies. In greater detail, your area of responsibility will be to:

  • Scope, organize, and prepare business cases for Tower Technology projects
  • Guide project teams to prepare plans, delegate work packages, and ensure progress
  • Map, monitor, and mitigate technical risks in projects
  • Ensure technical decision-making and facilitate technical reviews
  • Deliver technical solutions within the right quality, time, and cost targets of the project
  • Prepare fact-based gate material for project steering committees
  • Connect and align with multiple project stakeholders in the entire tower value chain

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • 5 years experience with the design of complex dynamically loaded concrete and steel structures like towers for wind turbines or other mast and chimney structures
  • Knowledge of bolted and Welded connections, as well as structural assessment
  • Knowledge of the ANSYS tool is ideal
  • Technical project management experience leading R&D projects and new concept development
