WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
As a member of the Asia Pacific Resource Mobilization and Engagement Department, the Donor Communications Manager is responsible for creating donor cultivation and stewardship communications, supporting optimal team project management, and providing effective messaging for regional leadership to high-level donors, trustees, and other primary stakeholders. Working with teams within Asia Pacific and broadly across TNC, the Donor Communications Manager manages and implements focused communication tactics that facilitate comprehension, adoption, and advancement of the TNC 2030 fundraising campaign One Future’s regional goals.
Reporting to the Director of Donor Communications–Asia Pacific, the Donor Communications Manager is responsible for the development and production of communications materials to engage, solicit, and steward existing and prospective private and corporate donors in cooperation with senior fundraisers and conservation leadership. They help facilitate ongoing communication between all parts of the regional Resource Mobilization & Engagement team, and teams within broader global development workstreams. And they identify communications needs and opportunities to redirect new/existing content for donor audiences within purview.
The Donor Communications Manager will lead duties that may include writing, editing, proofreading, light design, and creating general and customized concept papers, letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, case statements, fact sheets, and other marketing and communications materials. They must be able to make a strong case for TNC’s conservation strategies as rooted in the organization’s 2030 goals, its country programs, and its broad initiatives in Asia Pacific. They must develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of TNC’s key audiences, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and be responsive to deadlines and tight timetables.
Working with the Senior Donor Communications Manager, they may support departmental project management, including periodic reports to regional leadership and management of more complex donor communications assignments that may involve other teams in the organization.
The Donor Communications Manager will maintain direct and regular contact with Asia Pacific program staff to keep up to date on projects and gather donor-friendly information for various communications. Other responsibilities may include collecting news updates, producing slide decks, providing content for donor visits and field trips, and pitching, writing, and/or editing content for nature.org and other TNC communication channels and social media.
While the position has no direct management responsibilities, the ideal candidate will mentor other donor communications professionals, and provide support and guidance to the team and other philanthropy professionals. They may coordinate the work of consultants or support staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Manages and implements multiple projects, including setting deadlines and ensuring accountability.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for meeting assigned project goals and objectives.
- Acts independently and in supervisor’s stead as needed; exercises independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
- Resolves issues independently within program area.
- Works with vendors/other parties where appropriate to execute projects/deliverables.
- Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
- Travels occasionally to/within Asia Pacific region and US; works flexible hours when needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
- Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
- Experience writing, editing, and proofreading; demonstrated ability to write professionally and creatively for various audiences.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in conservation, with an emphasis on Asia Pacific.
- Basic understanding of conservation and strategic enablers for conservation at scale (e.g., sustainable finance, policy, community engagement approaches).
- Experience implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.
- Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign).
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communications skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
