What to Expect

The Licensed Electrician Crew Lead will be part of Tesla’s Energy Operations and Maintenance team. As a member of this team, the Licensed Electrician Crew Lead will lead a team to successfully complete quality upgrades on PV systems. The Licensed Electrician Crew Lead is in command on a crew and will function as the overall lead on a job site. It is the responsibility of every team member to ensure safe work practices for Tesla’s installation team. New hire training and continued training will be provided

What You’ll Do
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Field Service team members and work with a team to; remove, upgrade, perform quality checks, re-install, and commission solar PV systems
  • Ensure all related equipment necessary is available, onsite and cleaned up. Communicate job status to the customer and leadership
  • Document and update job status in the company database and lead efforts for safe work practices for the installation teams
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers throughout the process
  • Additional duties required as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • 3-5 years’ relevant electrical experience including 1 year solar PV experience with a valid state journeyman electrician license
  • Minimum 6 months leading a crew of two or more
  • Understanding of the NEC codes that relate to solar PV installations
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
  • Capable of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs; and performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time with experience using basic hand and power tools
  • Basic computer skills and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must have excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with and lead others in a collaborative team environment
