What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Software Validation Engineer for the Wireless Systems team to help develop best in class wireless connectivity solution for Tesla Bot. In this role, you would contribute to Tesla’s first generation of AI-humanoid robots that will transform the manufacturing and automate tasks at scale. The role involves validation of wireless telematics systems across cellular (LTE and 5G), WiFi and Bluetooth technologies on the humanoid robot systems. The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams as well as external suppliers in the lab and manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently, and creatively solving challenging design problems is of paramount importance. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-pace environment with tight timing constraints.

What You’ll Do
  • Contribute to rapid prototyping and evaluation of next generation wireless platforms on Tesla Bot
  • System level validation of Tesla’s wireless connectivity stack – Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth/BLE
  • Develop telemetry and analytics platform enabling data collection, analysis and visualization of data reported from Tesla fleet
  • Contribute to test automation frameworks to validate existing and new connectivity features
  • Provide testing support to software development, manufacturing, and other software teams
  • Root-cause issues reported by the engineering teams and the customers
  • Implement continuous improvements and best practices within the team
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Familiarity with at least one wireless technologies (Cellular or WiFi)
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)
  • New hardware bring up and creating hardware/software validation test plans
  • Familiarity with debugging tools, such as tcpdump, Wireshark, and OTA sniffers
  • Skilled at development of data analytics dashboards and automation scripts using Python or Shell

Expected Compensation

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
