The Tesla Energy Products team is bringing battery and solar technology to the grid to facilitate a renewable energy ecosystem and redefine the way the world will use energy in the future. As part of the Systems & Architecture team, you are the design leadership that translates system operation into value for our customers. Leading Tesla’s strategy to meet customer needs by leveraging your physics fundamentals, systems optimization thinking, economic understanding and simulation tools. This role involves collaboration with designers, engineering, sales and finance and requires the ability to distill highly technical information and effectively communicate with other teams and management. - Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and application requirements
- Create detailed computational models to simulate battery performance under various operating conditions, use these models to predict battery life, efficiency, and capacity for different industrial applications
- Analyze simulation data to generate performance reports and metrics, provide clear, actionable insights to the sales team to support customer presentations and proposals
- Offer technical support to the sales team during customer interactions, addressing any complex queries related to system operation, battery technology and performance
- Implement continuous improvements to the models to ensure they remain accurate, reliable, and aligned with industry standards and customer expectations
- Build tools to help the sales team effectively communicate system performance to customers and maximize value
- Work directly with system test team for system test plan development and validation of system design requirements
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Systems level thinker with ability to see the big picture and analyze system performance and its impact on operation
- Fundamentals in battery technology (required) and power electronics (preferred)
- Fluency in Matlab / Simulink
- Ability to interpret simulation results, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, break them down into manageable parts, and devise effective solutions
- Ensuring accuracy and precision in model development, simulations, and data analysis
- Ability to create clear, concise reports and documentation that effectively communicate technical information to stakeholders, along with proficiency in presenting complex technical information in an understandable way to the sales team and customers
- Experience solving open-ended engineering problems
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$84,000 - $324,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
