What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
Energy Demand Planning partners with global sales, manufacturing, engineering, product, and finance to support the rapid growth of energy products globally. This is a key cross-functional decision-making role with high impact, serious accountability, and executive visibility at the top levels of the organization. As a key member of the planning team, you will be responsible for forecasting demand for Powerwall, solar, Solar Roof, PV Inverters, and other components of the Residential Energy business, supporting long-term capacity planning and providing guidance to leadership for critical business decisions and managing risks. The ideal candidate has a passion for sustainable energy, collaborates well with others, and is skilled at using data to solve complex operational problems.
- Develop demand planning models and create global demand forecasts for Residential Energy products based on historical data (e.g., order rates, install rates, market trends, etc.) and future volume levers (e.g., pricing, staffing, new product introduction, and market expansion)
- Proactively manage short and long-term growth targets, providing detailed reporting to Energy leadership on tracking to those targets. Monitor lagging and leading indicators to continually assess business performance against the plan and recommend changes in forecast or modeling logic as needed
- Play a critical role in the Sales and Operations Planning process, working cross-functionally to support decisions across operations, sales, warehousing, manufacturing, material procurement, etc. Be accountable for identifying risks and proposing solutions to business leadership
- Partner with Finance to optimize financial health through planning decisions and detailed scenario analyses, particularly with new product introductions and business growth
- Compile and review weekly/monthly reporting of demand planning OKRs and analyses
- Automate operational models and processes to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of operations as the business scales
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of work experience in business operations, supply chain, management consulting, or related fields
- Energy industry experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (SQL, Python a strong plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence multiple teams at various organizational levels
- Structured communication skills, capable of presenting to executive teams
- Embrace of change and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$72,000 - $228,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
