What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an Engineering Technician specializing in Production Control Operations. This role is pivotal in optimizing material flow, maintaining inventory levels, and driving continuous improvement efforts for efficient manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, goal-oriented technician that will use Industrial Engineering and Lean Principles for manufacturing processes. Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, the Engineering technician will help improve processes to increase overall KPI’s (EX: Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost, etc.). Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on a critical subsystem of an incredibly exciting product.

What You’ll Do
  • Design efficient storage solutions that could be standardized across site
  • Set order points for consumables and packaging
  • Leverage MFS system to create traceable material flow for Inventory products like spares/consumables
  • Perform special project assignments, as directed by Supervisor
  • Collaborate with production management and cross-functional support teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordingly
  • Assist in developing and deploying efficient systems to integrate production associates, machines, material requirements, and information to achieve optimal manufacturing state
  • Be involved in problem solving circles, kaizens, or rapid improvement events
What You’ll Bring
  • Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Visio is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Kanban, JIT (Just in Time) systems, and MRP/ERP systems, particularly [Warp, MFS, TMS]
  • Record of accomplishment of identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing process improvements, and preparing diagrams that illustrate workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilization.
  • Ability to collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize process * Working knowledge of 5S principles, Work Measurement, JIT, Kanban, and Problem-Solving Methods
  • Must have persuasive communication skills, including full command of the English language both written and verbal
  • Possess the abilities to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of dedication to an elevated level of customer satisfaction

Expected Compensation

$27.45 - $40.36/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
