What to Expect

The candidate will have experience in all facets of Tool & Die related to plastic injection molding, automotive stamping or high pressure die casting. Die or mold maintenance supervision and leadership experience in supporting both steady production as well as new product and/or new die/mold. The candidate needs to be well-versed in various tool and die craftsmanship skills, breakdown management, root cause investigation and problem recurrence prevention, PM system development and implementation, and spare parts management.

This person must be able to build upon previous successes and take our Tool & Die team to the next level. He/she must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect safety, part quality, production efficiency and die/mold function. The successful candidate will also have exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.


What You'll Do
  • Assign daily task, manage work schedule, and set direction for the Tool & Die Specialists
  • Train and develop individual teams to skill level objectives
  • Interact with Production, Manufacturing and Design Engineering to align with set goals
  • Develop and create standard procedures and methods as well as maintain updates as required
  • Project manage repair, refurbishment, and engineering change implementation
  • Assist with budget development and reporting
  • Identify and maintain spare parts inventory and tracking system

What You'll Bring
  • Completion of a Tool & Die apprenticeship program or equivalent with 5+ years experience in leadership
  • 5+ years hands-on experience working in automotive die maintenance and repair (stamping dies, plastic injection molds and/or high pressure die cast molds)
  • Aluminum stamping or structural die casting experience is a plus
  • Project management experience and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to motivate in high pressure situations and develop individualized development plans to improve weaknesses and leverage strengths
  • Good overall people management skill
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing Protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines

Expected Compensation

$98,400 - $147,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
