What to Expect
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and sustaining robust processes and will support standardize business practices and Visual Management. The Engineer needs to understand how the team’s business process impacts other internal teams at Tesla to ensure the entire team is aligned with Tesla’s mission.
The Engineer will champion the business data analysis and provide the most efficient and effective reporting and insights to the leadership team using a robust methodology to measure key performance indicators.
The Process Engineer is responsible for process planning, capacity planning, project planning, AMEF, SMED and 2D layout updating. Collaborates with Equipment, tool and die, quality and operations to develop and optimize stamping processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be experienced in process development, process sustaining, and analytics. Additionally, you must be effective in working on a project basis and be a strong communicator.
What You’ll Do
  • Must possess process engineering skills (process development/improvement, troubleshoot, data analysis, etc.)
  • In-depth analysis on business processes and related data including KPIs, Labor, Opex, etc
  • Own process improvements and support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S initiatives
  • Understand and influence strategic goals, customer needs, and business objectives
  • Act as a database and system expert, provide support to the users from organization
  • Develop and standardize data analysis methodology, reporting tools and dashboards to facilitate business processes and increase productivity
  • Effectively communicate actionable insights to all levels of the organization with varying degree of data science understanding and backgrounds
  • Develop and execute detailed project timeline plans providing regular updates to management
  • Schedules and facilitates machine trials at Tesla and engineering changes
  • Create and maintain standardized processes and work instructions. Keep lay outs updated
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree on Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or with equilvalent experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Industrial Engineering in stamping environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of six sigma, FMEA, control plans and problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of process development, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), & FMEA fundamentals are desired
  • Intelligent Risk taking, Integrated thinking, strong leadership, strong problem solving, and technical communication skills a MUST. Experience of managing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Programming skills in SQL and Python and experience of data management systems including Ignition, MOS/MES and Tableau
  • Knowledge of CATIA, AutoCAD, 3D Experience and MS project preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical control systems. Knowledge of GD&T
  • Good understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews and cost reduction methodologies

Expected Compensation

$76,000 - $240,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
