What to Expect
Tesla operates huge, vertically-integrated factories across three continents along with a global Supercharger network; the Security Operations & Response Team is responsible for 24/7 monitoring, incident response, threat detection and mitigation across this global enterprise. This team operates around the clock, utilizing advanced security & intelligence systems to promptly identify/respond to incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and mitigate potential risks or damages. The group also provides leadership in coordinating with regional teams to maintain a cohesive security posture worldwide.
We are looking for a passionate senior security engineer to continually improve the efficiency of our detection/response program through platform & tools development, tuning, innovation and automation. You will build, test, deploy and enhance custom features for detecting & countering threats at scale; your work will remain at the forefront of developing groundbreaking solutions, pushing boundaries, and driving real-world impact.
What You’ll Do
  • Design & develop next-generation security solutions based on adhering to first principles, defying convention, and delivering tangible outcomes
  • Translate security needs into actionable R&D projects, prioritizing those with the greatest impact
  • Enable systems with exceptional scale, visibility, and response capabilities
  • Proactively identify & build solutions to disrupt threat actors across the entire chain
  • Challenge the status quo by questioning established industry thinking, proposing bold solutions, and redefining best practices through sound principles
  • Reimagine cloud-based security solutions and tooling for on-premises deployments, with a focus on cost savings and increased data security
  • Outmaneuver the Magic Quadrant through bespoke software development, security solutioning and singular purpose rather than stitching together “best of breed” solutions
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring understanding and alignment
What You’ll Bring
  • Extensive experience in security software R&D, with a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and secure coding practices
  • Experience in network/endpoint detection & response, security automation, UEBA, and threat & malware analysis
  • Experience developing security products, tools, and processes that deliver real-world impact
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and investigative mindset
  • Proficiency with Python, Go, Rust or similar is a plus
  • Private 5G/SCADA/ICS/OT experience is a plus
