Tesla is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its 4680 Battery Cell facility in Fremont, CA. The successful candidate will have experience in all facets of maintenance management. Maintenance supervision and leadership experience with supporting sustainable production as well as new model and/or new equipment introductions is required.
Needs demonstrable skills in the following areas: Breakdown management & follow up action to prevent repeat occurrences, TPM / PM development and implementation, equipment spare parts management, OEE % improvement and training & development, be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect safety, quality, production efficiency & equipment reliability, as well as have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills—demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.
- Supervision of hourly Maintenance Technicians. This is a hands-on working Supervisor role. Extreme floor presence is a must
- Workforce management: day to day line support; in-house equipment maintenance repair work; vacation scheduling; OT & weekend work scheduling; adherence to weekly/daily planned maintenance schedule
- Defining daily tasks, setting directions for the team, following up on execution of work
- Interaction and close partnership with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler and the Production, Quality, Engineering groups
- Project management: both internal maintenance projects and minor contractor projects. Must be able to report out progress of jobs and communicate status to stakeholders
- Develop and improve standard documents for preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance in close partnership with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler
- Training and directing the training of the maintenance techs in close partnership with the Maintenance Training Technician
- 5+ years of experience in Maintenance supervision with extensive experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance - breakdowns and failures. Robotic and controls programming skills is a plus
- Demonstrated Project management skills in leading projects to completion and on time
- Maintenance experience in an industrial, fast-paced environment for CPGs or other process where output of manufactured product is measured and tracked to a goal with KPIs
- Understanding basic technical fundamentals in mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Proficiency in using a CMMS and in Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Demonstrated positive attitude that reflects the overall drive to complete the mission and goals of Tesla
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$96,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
