What to Expect
The Data Center Technician is essential for maintenance, management, and operation of a data center facility. They are responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of data center infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and cooling systems.
What You’ll Do
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of data center hardware, including servers, storage devices, and networking equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements as needed
  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software
  • Monitor server performance and take proactive measures to optimize performance and prevent downtime
  • Manage and configure network switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Monitor network traffic and address connectivity issues promptly
  • Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard data center assets and prevent unauthorized access
  • Monitor power distribution and backup systems (UPS) to ensure uninterrupted operation
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, and system configurations
  • Follow disaster recovery plans to minimize data center downtime
What You’ll Bring
  • Additional technical certifications or a related degree
  • Proficiency in data center hardware, networking, and server technologies
  • Strong familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows) and server virtualization
  • Competence in data center management tools and software
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 operational environment

Expected Compensation

  • Engineering Tech I - $20.74 - $31.11/hour
  • Engineering Tech II - $24.48 - $36.72/hour
  • Engineering Tech III - $28.56 - $42.84/hour
  • Engineering Tech IV - $31.96 - $47.94/hour
  • Engineering Tech V - $37.06 - $55.59/hour
, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
