Field Leader- Pittsburgh Roving Crew
Position Summary
Pittsburgh Roving Crew Leader will work directly with fulltime SCA office staff meet unforeseen needs of our summer crew. This leader will start prior to the start of training to assist with members and leader outreach, training, and logistics. During the field season the Roving Crew Leader will fill in for leaders in the event of absences, as well as provide logical, technical, and behavioral support on days when all leaders are present. Location assignments will frequently change and the Roving Crew Leader will often not know their itinerary until the start of the workday. As the on-the-ground representative of SCA, Community the Roving Crew Leaders are an integral part of the success of our teams and are expected to proactively communicate, create a culture of growth, and professionally represent themselves and SCA.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as an Advisor, by training members in technical conservation work skills, mentoring personal and professional development, and teaching environmental stewardship Act as a Project Manager, by communicating with agency park partners, ensuring successful and timely completion of work projects, and upholding a positive representation of SCA;
Perform tasks as a Program Administrator, by organizing logistics, completing documentation, managing a budget, and communicating with SCA staff
Marginal Duties
Roving crew leader will be responsible for attending two camping trips during the season, filling in for crew leaders who are absent, and regularly reporting on their perception of individual crew dynamics and adherence to policy.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience working with the SCA Pittsburgh program or similar program.;
Experience working with high school aged youth, teaching, or environmental education;
Experience with manual labor or related skills preferred – i.e., trail maintenance, trail construction, habitat restoration, carpentry, landscaping, and gardening;
Ability to pass PA background checks for working with minors;
Valid Driver's License and MVR that meets SCA standards

40 per week
Living Accommodations
Responsible for locating and securing own housing.
Compensation
$800/week
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
