Position Summary

ATL inclusion crew focuses on creating a safe space for crew members who identify with the following communities: LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, people living with physical/intellectual disabilities (i.e. autism spectrum, mental health, physical, emotional, etc.>), and their allies. Our crew commitment is to accept all persons regardless of societal differences and challenges. The SCA Inclusion Crew is a unique program that offers online and in-person experiences at the breathtaking Arabia Mountain State Park and West Atlanta Watershed Alliance. This program will immerse participants in leadership and conservation development activities, gaining invaluable skills and experiences that will last a lifetime. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Will support Park Partners at Arabia and West Atlanta Watershed Alliance with such tasks as invasive species removal, litter abatement, facility upkeep, and community engagement; Will present and lead a community workshop/spark talk on inclusion in the outdoors; Will participate in environmental education lessons and Saturday workdays

Required Qualifications

High school age 14-18; Must enjoy and learning about the outdoors and environmental studies; Must be able to attend all Saturday work days 8am-4pm (October Dates: 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th-November Dates: 2nd, 9th, and 16th); Must attend the In-Person Inclusion Crew Workshop (Thursday November 14th)

Compensation

$12.00 hourly rate; Paid Bi-weekly; Part-Time Position 10 hours max weekly
