Solar Edge seeks an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and remanufacturing production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the quality of the parts, the process, and the final product. You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop Solar Edge’s production process to make high-quality products that meet our internal and external customer expectations. The Quality Engineer is a professional problem solver who can make good use of quality techniques (SixSigma, advanced statistics, Advanced Product Quality Planning, data visualization) to solve quality challenges and develop reliable processes that prevent the creation of nonconformities to ensure the final results are high-quality products that meet the high-reliability standards in the energy business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to establish effective working relationships within Solar Edge and externally.
- Development of manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and product quality plans to ensure products will meet the expectations of our customers
- Deployment of manufacturing-level requirements to subsystems, assemblies & components to ensure a clear focus on design and customer needs
- Identification of critical requirements to ensure proper supplier and production focus on critical needs
- Leading development of FMEAs (Design & Process) for development teams to identify and address critical risks
- Support the development of manufacturing equipment, controls, and test plans to address risks identified in FMEA
- Assist development with statistical tolerancing analysis and other methods to investigate the effects of part and process variability on system performance
- Support process capability analyses to investigate the ability of suppliers and production processes to meet defined specifications and quality standards
- Design practical experiments through DOE or other methods to support design teams in investigation of various alternatives or design validation testing
- Manage, facilitate, and support root cause analysis through facilitating brainstorming, use of lean methodologies, hypothesis testing, design of experiments, cross-functional collaboration, etc.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Practical Engineer as a minimum requirement, Engineering BS, or an AS with documented work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment(Industrial/Production/Mechanical/Materials or Electronics) is an advantage.
- Additional education in Quality or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is an advantage.
- ASQ or Six Sigma certification is an advantage
- At least 3 years experience in Quality Engineering operating in a multidisciplinary electro-mechanical production environment.
- Proven experience in quality monitoring, failure analysis investigations, and implementation of quality improvements that lead to quality and reliability improvements and cost reductions.
- Proven experience in different production methodologies, technologies, and processes of High-end Electronics, Electro-Mechanics, and Mechanical Products.
- Strong MS Office experience in Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Data mining and database (e.g., MySQL) experience is a plus.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
