Role Summary:
Internship Term:

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 to December 2027

This role requires strong communication skills for effective internal collaboration, as well as technical knowledge in problem-solving, continuous improvement, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. The intern will support various quality projects, including data analysis, process improvement, and root-cause analysis, to identify and implement enhancements across Rivian’s products.
Responsibilities:
  • Field Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing field data and investigating product failures to understand root causes and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement projects, utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive quality enhancements.
  • Problem-Solving: Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to identify solutions and contribute to product quality improvements.
  • Data Analysis: Use data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or SQL to evaluate data trends and support decision-making in quality initiatives.
  • Quality Documentation: Document findings, methodologies, and improvements, maintaining quality records and updates in tools like Jira.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to communicate quality insights and assist in implementing quality improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts; Six Sigma certification or coursework is preferred. Familiarity with problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or SQL, with the ability to interpret and apply data findings effectively.
  • Experience: Previous internship experience in quality or a related industry is a plus.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within internal teams.
  • 40 hours/week, full-time

Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
