POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will support Hanwha Group U.S. based subsidiaries communications efforts to include both external media relations and employee communications. This position requires strong writing skills, ability to create strategic communications plans around important company initiatives and support Corporate Affairs/Marketing and HR priorities. This position will manage initiatives and produce materials for Hanwha corporate entities in the defense, energy and shipbuilding industries to meet their strategic communications needs. The right candidate will have the ability to manage the needs to multiple subsidiaries simultaneously. The employee will be a key member of the Hanwha Corporate Affairs Group and will work to build employee engagement and a strong corporate culture. This position reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and is in Washington, DC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with leaders of Hanwha Group subsidiaries to manage and execute their communications needs. Work closely with appropriate communications counterparts at headquartered offices in Korea, Seoul, including marketing and strategic communications.
- Work on strategic projects supporting policy, technology development, business milestones, partnerships and acquisitions.
- Write talking points, press releases, thought leadership, and internal communications materials. Strong writing skills are a must- including the ability to produce near final written products with limited copyediting needed.
- Create and execute sophisticated external and employee communications plans to enhance corporate culture and values.
- Communicate internally to set expectations, gain buy in, and develop action plans.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s or advanced degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, or related field.
- At least 7-10 years of Corporate Communications, public relations, or journalism experience, and some knowledge of key industry technology and political issues
- Experience in a highly regulated industry is a plus.
- Strong research and writing capabilities across multiple information types.
- Proficiency in using software programs such as MS Office Suite.
- Assertive, able to cope with pressure, and a team player.
- Multiple writing samples in a variety of formats will be required as part of the interview process.
