POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an HR Ops Specialist to act as the key integrator for our day-to-day HR Operations function. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of HR Operations, providing general guidance and support to fellow HR Team members, employees, managers and senior leadership on HR practices, policies, processes, programs and tools. The HR Ops Specialist will act as the main point of contact for all general HR needs and questions as well as provide a constant source of ideas for optimizing our systems, processes and people practices. Collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Talent Engagement to build a strong matrix relationship within HR is critical to the role. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR’s core functions (i.e., benefits, comp, payroll, employee relations, compliance, HRIS, etc.) and a working knowledge of Operational Excellence, Organization Design and Change Management. This is a hybrid position, based in northern CA, preferably near the San Francisco Bay Area and requires attendance at quarterly meetings at our headquarters in SF. Under exceptional circumstances, a fully remote option could be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general guidance and support to the HR Team, employees, managers and senior leadership on HR practices, policies, processes, programs and tools.
Collaborate closely within the HR team and across the business to ensure the efficient and effective completion of all general HR tasks and projects.
Process all requests for approval related to HR processes and programs (e.g., org changes, employee status adjustments, vendor contracts, etc.).
Manage new hire onboarding (e.g., transition from TA, NHO, Day 1 tasks, etc.) and transition new employees to the integration processes with Talent Management.
Manage offboarding process, documentation, communication, etc.
Partner with and support Talent Management programs as requested.
Maintain employee data and processes within the HRIS platform, including time and attendance, performance management, employee profiles, etc.
Conduct Level 1 Employee Relations (ER) interviews and assessments.
Ensure all employee data and files are held in the strictest confidence and all HR documentation is managed appropriately.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least 4 years of experience either in an HR generalist role, leading and managing people or some combination of the two.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or other relevant field of study.
High level of proficiency in HRIS platform operations, troubleshooting and training.
Able to prioritize tasks based on a broad understanding of HR’s and the company’s business objectives and needs.
Comfortable operating under ambiguous and uncertain circumstances, able to find and bring clarity and connect to purpose when others are confused.
Solid understanding of federal, state and local employment laws as they pertain to the day-to-day requirements of HR Operations.
Superior communication skills, both spoken and written.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
A customer-centric approach, consistently projecting a service mindset.
Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.
High level of professionalism with a demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive, complex and difficult situations positively.
Able to maintain employee data in strictest confidence.
Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, especially as they relate to data analysis/reporting and process improvement.
Proven skill in core Microsoft Office Suite applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
Knowledge of or experience working in a Korean company
Korean bilingual
Experience with HRIS platforms
