We are on the lookout for a Senior Systems Engineer, Vehicle Controls that will be responsible for developing and maintaining software system architectures. In this position, you will define system architectures and requirements to meet functionality, safety, service, and reliability objectives for electric vehicle’s systems. The Senior Systems Engineer – Vehicle Controls will be considered the expert for the system design. Responsibilities:

We are on the lookout for a Senior Systems Engineer, Vehicle Controls that will be responsible for developing and maintaining software system architectures. In this position, you will define system architectures and requirements to meet functionality, safety, service, and reliability objectives for electric vehicle’s systems. The Senior Systems Engineer – Vehicle Controls will be considered the expert for the system design.
- Design and develop controls software system architecture for new and existing vehicle functions on BEV/FCEV programs
- Analyze existing software and interface designs for feasibility and continuous improvements
- Work closely with cross-functional teams like thermal, propulsion, product architecture to develop and document vehicle control software requirements/specifications to be implemented by the controls application team
- Collaborate with the controls and modeling engineers to devise accurate control architecture for energy management, battery management, fuel-cell management, charging. power management, torque management, vehicle state management and fault management
- Assist with development of test cases for MIL/SIL/HIL verification of the vehicle controls software
- Provide guidance in requirements development and systems engineering to other team members
- Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary and fast-paced environment
- Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical or any closely related discipline)
- Technical ability to understand and create system architectures and requirements
- Knowledge of vehicle systems like battery, fuel cell, motor, inverters, DCDC, and charging
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience
- Experience with architecting software for functional safety relevant systems
- Experience in MBSD test environment including test case creation and model coverage
Preferred:
- Understanding of microcontrollers and interfaces between application and driver layer
- Familiarity with ISO26262 development process
- Knowledge of Model-Based system design in MATLAB/Simulink environment
- Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape
- Familiar with git version control
- Proficiency in C/C++/Python programming
Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization or be TN eligible from Mexico or Canada. This position is not eligible for CPT or OPT.
