The Role:

The Strategic Buyer actively participates in the fulfillment of the demands placed on the company while adhering to cost limits, quality and deadline specifications as well as applicable safety regulations and requirements. This includes the independent creation and assurance of the quality of the processes in purchasing as well as the purchased materials, parts, goods, indirect materials, etc. to ensure high-quality production of machines and systems, solar cells and modules.

Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):

  • Negotiation of all purchasing conditions (including prices, delivery times, payment and delivery conditions) for defined material field in the area of direct requirements for cells and modules or capital goods.
  • Establishing the negotiated conditions by drawing up a purchasing contract or agreeing on the legal business basis with the involvement of the legal department.
  • Establishing, maintaining and actively developing suppliers and optimizing the supplier base in line with purchasing and corporate strategy; planning and carrying out supplier visits independently.
  • Active communication and information transfer with (internal) requesters and suppliers.
  • Building up extensive market knowledge of the procurement markets.
  • Other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

You bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience working in purchasing/buying role or similar.
  • Team-based, solution focused with strong skills in analysis, high level of attention to detail, and comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong time management and adaptability.
  • Ability to be accurate, precise and follow set procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP (SAP preferred) software platforms and Microsoft Office 365, (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Proven expertise in purchasing fields in the automated production

A Plus:

  • Professional experience in purchasing, ideally in solar, semiconductor, automotive industry, and or mechanical engineering.
  • Bilingual / Spanish.
