Test and Validation Engineer II, Drive Unit Test and Validation
As a Test and Validation Engineer, you will take responsibility for the development and execution of automated test systems for drive units and powertrain components. Based on your expertise, you will lead or support the testing of specific sub-systems, ensuring that all performance, durability, and environmental tests are executed efficiently. You will also collaborate with senior engineers to drive the development and execution of test cases and support Design Verification and Product Reliability (DVPR) activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize automated test systems for EV drive units and powertrain components.
- Lead or support performance, durability, and environmental tests, including HALT, for EV drive units.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive test cases, ensuring that all Design Verification and Product Reliability (DVPR) activities are supported and completed.
- Analyze and interpret test data using numerical tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, AVL PUMA, REPS) and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and execute test plans and validation procedures to validate hardware against customer and industry requirements.
- Work with design engineers to identify issues and improve powertrain designs based on test findings.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes to reduce testing cycle time and improve test coverage.
- Support junior engineers and technicians in test execution, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in test automation, performance testing, and data analysis.
- Strong experience with test automation tools and numerical analysis software (e.g., Python, MATLAB, AVL PUMA, REPS).
- Experience in managing and performing HALT, environmental testing, and durability testing for automotive components.
- Strong knowledge of test equipment calibration and performance metrics.
