Technical Specialist, Interiors Door Trim
We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist for Door Trim. This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to work with one of the most passionate engineers of a global team. Role
- Be a significant contributor to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering team
- Develop, design lead, release and launch interior Door Trim components on premium Lucid vehicles
- Create industry-leading Interior Door Trim, with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, packaging, ergonomics, and functionality
- Work interactively within a cross-functional with marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, placing priority on the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system
- Lead the Door Trim supplier to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of Lucid Interior Components and Systems
- Employ and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development
- Interface with Crash Safety team to ensure the design is meeting the homologation requirements
- Lead the interface between supplier and Lucid Validation team to run DVPV that meets Lucid targets
Qualifications
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (for one or more: IP, Center Console, Door Trim)
- Demonstrated experience leading Door Trim sub-system
- Proven experience creating/improving/establishing technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP
- Proven experience in FMVSS 214 and ECE-R21 regulations
- Proven experienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concept drawings
- Proven experienced developing location scheme for complex assemblies (IP, Center Console, Door Trim)
- Vehicle and product launch experience in at minimum one full program since early architecture conception until SOP.
- Proven experience in interior process, such as wrapping, injection molding, back injection, painting, compression molding, wood decorative parts, chrome components and other state of the art manufacturing processes.
- Strong competency in polymers for the design of Door Trim interior components
- Experience in tool design, being able to identify tool components (lifters, sliders, ejectors, cooling lines)
- Strong competency on DFM and GD&T
- Proven experience in mold flow simulations

- Ideally a second language as Spanish or German
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or in a relevant discipline
- Preferable, Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive or equivalent discipline.
- Fluent English including technical engineering terminology
