We are currently seeking Technical Specialist. This position requires an experienced professional with a extensive background in charging industry having expertise in charging standards, and who has zeal to resolve interoperability issues Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

Role

  • Member of the Charging & Smart Energy group who will be responsible for charging robustness with regards to interoperability, Plug and Charge in North America
  • Perform and collaborate AC/DC interoperability test on vehicles with all charging network operators in United States & Canada by traveling to vendor labs, public sites
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis of issues, working cross functionally within Lucid and external partners to drive the resolution of issues
  • Creating, executing test plans/test cases made using charging industry standard and Lucid’s high voltage architecture.
  • Actively participating in software release note meetings with each EVSE vendor and performing regression test with Lucid software
  • Understanding anomalies through communication logs captured between charger and EV, several ECU’s within lucid vehicle and raising bug tickets
  • Working with charging product managers and always on top of testing with new charging players in industry
  • Responsibility in ensuring DC charging infrastructure within Lucid premises is always UpToDate with software and in working charging condition.
  • Defining charging KPI’s and collaborating with data scientists to extract appropriate data from raw charging sessions.
  • Interpreting data from tableau dashboards, analyzing customer charging sessions, reporting out charging trends seen on monthly basis

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience
  • Proficient in ISO15118-2, ISO15118-20, IEC61851, J1772, DIN70121, CCS1, CCS2
  • Understanding of OCPP, OCPI
  • Expertise in using tools such as CANalyzer/ CANoe, Wireshark, CANape, PLC Sniffer
  • Strong knowledge of system level testing, requirements, data capturing and analysis
  • Experience with electrical signals CAN, LIN, Ethernet, PLC Communication
  • Self-Starter, able to work in fast-paced environment and effective communicator.
  • Ability to travel in North America to support testing with several vendors
  • Experience in using Jama and Jira
  • Familiarity in using root analysis techniques like 8D, Fishbone

Advantageous

  • Experience in working with High Voltage systems.
  • Experience in using EV/EVSE test systems like Keysight, Comemso will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of basic scripting for automating test setups
  • Ability to travel to Europe and other countries to support testing and training Engineers.
  • Experience on working in labs, creating test setups, failure scenarios in that environment.

Education

  • 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

  • California (Bay Area) - $138,000 - $198,000Additional Compensation and Benefits:

Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
