Mechanical Engineer II, HV Battery
As a Mechanical Engineer in the HV Battery team, you will develop state-of-the-art HV devices, HV/LV harnesses and distribution systems for electric vehicles. You will investigate challenges, and implement innovative solutions. The Role:
- You will own the design of core battery tech (i.e. HV/LV harnesses, busbars, connectors, HV devices) for the Lucid Air, Gravity, and Midsize from concept to production
- You will conceptualize, test, and release high volume battery components that will enable Lucid to make the most compelling and sustainable vehicles in the world
- Your innovative battery designs will directly influence key aspects of Lucid's acclaimed electric powertrains, including safety, mass, performance, cost, and reliability.
- You'll learn to leverage your engineering skills to tackle complex, cross-functional battery design challenges.

Qualifications:
- You have a strong desire to learn, to make an impact, and challenge yourself
- You can leverage your intuitive understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals

- Strong CAD skills with 3DExperience/Catia CAD or equivalent
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as harness fabrication, injection molding, stamping, insulation methods, and end of line testing
- Understand vehicle-level systems engineering including communications, functionality trade-offs, grounding, creepage and clearance, EMC strategies
- Hands-on experience designing and building electro-mechanical systems
Preferred:
- 1-2 years experience designing high voltage batteries or battery disconnect components (60VDC+, FSAE Electric, etc)
- 1-2 years experience designing LV/HV harnesses and integrating complex systems
- Knowledge of connector design for high-voltage environments
- Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
- Previous experience designing parts that have shipped in volume
Education:
- BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering
