We are looking for a talented designer to join our Service Engineering team. Service Engineering is responsible for the tooling requirements for Lucid vehicles, service, and ancillary systems. The applicant should have good engineering knowledge of mechanical designs and their applications in the real-world environment and be able to design and develop engineering systems quickly, accurately, and in a manner appropriate to ease manufacturing and assembly. The applicant will generate 3D models and 2D drawings of engineering systems, jigs, and fixtures to a high standard required for internal/external manufacture both in the US and around the world and assist in the coordination of design and manufacturing programs and the testing/verification of designs.

The applicant will be required to create innovative design solutions to complex issues and introduce and develop new materials and processes with an emphasis on cost reductions. The applicant must have a flexible attitude to work and a 'team-player' attitude with good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based on a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced rapidly changing environment.
  • Experienced with either 3DX, CATIA V5 and V6 (NX, Unigraphics is acceptable)
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and other technical documents
  • Demonstrated understanding of GD&T.
  • Strong organization and project management skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage difficult projects with tight timing, and budget constraints.
  • Technology knowledge for tooling, assemblies, and testing is a plus.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the design process from initial concept stages through tooling released and production launch.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on practical experience in mechanical assembly, prototyping, or test experience.
  • Experience in injection molding, 3D printing, and machining techniques is a plus.
  • Previous automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience is a plus.


Education:

  • BS, minimum (MS, preferred) in mechanical engineering.
