What You’ll do (the role)


SUMMARY

As a Project Manager for the Global PMO, you will manage the delivery of digital and non-digital projects within the global portfolio, using the appropriate methodology (agile or traditional). The successful candidate will be focused on completing projects as efficiently and promptly as possible, in the most cost-effective manner. They will use best practice approaches, methods and techniques to ensure predictability of project outcomes.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Coordination, would typically include:

  • Leading planning sessions. Developing project scopes, objectives and timelines with project leads, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure feasibility.
  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors, ensuring resources are available and allocated when needed.
  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation. Creating and maintaining project documents or artifacts as appropriate to the project (e.g. project briefs, timelines, project backlogs, release plans).
  • Arranging and hosting project meetings or ceremonies in conjunction with project leads and issuing regular project status updates.

Project Monitoring and Control, would typically include:

  • Tracking progress using the appropriate method for the project (e.g. project schedules, burndown charts).
  • Using suitable techniques to manage any changes in project scope, timelines and costs.
  • Tracking project spend to ensure project remains within budget.
  • Minimising project risks by performing risk management reviews with the project leads and relevant stakeholders.
  • Measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

People and Relationship Management, would typically include:

  • Identifying and managing the stakeholder relationships for projects using applicable techniques (e.g. stakeholder maps, RACI).
  • Building good working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with third parties/vendors as required.
  • Promoting best practice project management approaches amongst colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.

Who we’re looking for


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computing, project, or business management subject, plus some project management experience OR
  • Good level of general education with a good level of project management experience.
  • Any project management certifications would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of project management approaches and methods.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes.
  • Good commercial and business awareness.
  • Possesses an analytical mind, with a keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
  • Takes ownership and uses initiative.
  • Any knowledge of the Renewable Energy sector would be an advantage.
