Within Grid Solutions, the Power Transmission Business Line (PT), is accountable for the design, production, sales and services of high and medium voltage products that help customers to decarbonize the grid and expand world electrification.
With $2,6B of order, PT employs 7 000 employees around the world.
The product portfolio covers transformers, air and gas insulated switchgears, power quality products and the sf6-free g3 technology. PT is structured around 7 Regions and central Functions.

The Central Europe Region represents a market volume of +400M$ orders in 2023 and +800 employees. The region is a full P&L covering engineering, production, sales and services activities.

Driven by the energy transition, the market of the region is expected to grow significantly on the coming years. Three industrial sites are part of the region : Monchengladbach and Kassel in Germany and Oberentfelden in Switzerland

PT Central Europe HR Leader

The Power Transmission Central Europe HR leader has dual responsibilities:
  • HR Manager for the two factory sites in Germany : Monchengladbach and Kassel
  • Region HR leader for Central Europe. In this role, (s)he supervises the HRM from Switzerland.

(S)he closely partner with the Leaders in the region to drive HR strategy to enable the business to reach its business goals and bring the future to success.

Job Description

This role will provide HR leadership and support on multiple aspects of the global organization through the following:

  • Provide leadership and expertise for the full scope including organizational design, executive development, succession planning, coaching, talent selection, etc.

  • Drive strong leadership development and selection processes to position the business with quality talent options for critical expert and leadership roles

  • Ensuring a dynamic pipeline of talent through rigorous performance management, e.g., leadership assessments, coaching and development of employees, candid and timely performance feedback

  • Serve as a valued business partner in developing HR strategy and providing counsel to the leadership team

  • Research and leverage best practices across GE and in external businesses to drive a faster and simpler organization

  • Collaborate across the site and region to support the business transformation

  • Plan and execute strategies that ensure maximum employee engagement while actively managing headcount targets and HR budget management

  • Manage social relations at site

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Successfully completed a university degree, ideally with a focus on HR management

  • Willing to travel

  • Significant HR experience in a matrix and multi-country and industrial environment

  • Fluency in English and in German, combined with excellent communication & presentation skills

  • EU work permit

  • Significant knowledge of local litigation, works council and Tariffs
