Lead- Warehouse Operations and Materials (1st Shift)

Basic Job Functions:
This role will Supervise and coordinate a team of shift supervisors in assigned area to meet the daily warehouse activities to maintain inventory accuracy and smooth operations in accordance with standards and procedures. The scope of the role includes resolving operational issues, coaching, and managing work performance of the team, coordinating material inventory and shipments to ensure no disruption to manufacturing operations or customer shipments, identifying opportunities for improvement, and minimizing warehouse expenses.
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in supply chain/Logistics/Transportation or Business-related field and five (5) or more years of related supervisory, warehouse, and/or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment, OR High School Diploma/GED and (8) or more years of related supervisory, warehouse, and/or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma and/or lean certification preferred. Experience managing large warehouse teams across multiple shift operations.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse and inventory control concepts (FIFO, Kanban, cycle counting practices, etc.).
- Proven organizational and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent understanding of computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, ERP systems, etc.).
- Proven developmental and training skills.
- Ability to develop a strong safety culture and practice in the workplace.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Proven employee relations skills and knowledge of HR practices.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinate a team of Shift Supervisors to meet the daily warehouse activity to maintain the accuracy of inventory, Receiving and Shipping activities and ensure smooth operations in accordance with standards and procedures and safety standards.
- Resolve operation issues to ensure smooth S&R activities are being carried out.
- Coach and manage work performance of a team of warehouse associates to be aligned with department expectations and goals.
- Coordinate warehouse material inventory and shipment to ensure no disruption to manufacturing operation and shipment activities.
- Responsible for interface with stakeholders to ensure correct materials/ products flow to maintain shipping/receiving data information accuracy.
- Responsible for resolving receiving/shipping discrepancies (if any) to minimize inventory variance.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to increase department efficiency and minimize cost.
- Working with Human Resource Department closely in handling employee relations issues to ensure correct action are addressed on timely manner.
- Will take up the responsibilities as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Warehouse Operations organization, in 1 of the 7 focus areas identified. As SME of one of these areas, the Lead, will ensure the proper documentation, training and coaching in the respective subject matter for all warehouse associates. This includes sharing, learning, and standardizing the same focus areas with other site Lead.

- Manages execution at all internal and external warehouses that support manufacturing sites. To ensure on time and continuous material supply from warehouse to manufacturing.
- Manages and controls all warehouse expenses according to the warehouse budget.
- Responsible for accurate work instructions & procurement to meet SOX and ISO requirements.
- Accountable for all KPI’s associated with warehouse operations and related corrective actions for misses.
- Responsible for driving a safety culture and practice in the warehouse operations among the associates. Enhancing the safety culture within the site
- Lead management, customer, and auditor line walk / MBWA
- Maintain and supervise warehouse cost control.
- Daily housekeeping / 5S in warehouse
- Ensure on time preventive maintenance of all warehouse MHE, tools and equipment.
- Execute Plant startup/equipment & technology upgrade activities involving warehouse area.
- Coordinate shunting or interplant truck operation
- Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:
- This position will have direct reports.
Travel:
- 5% - 10%
- If hiring to a new plant prior to plant start, associate will be required to spend extended time (60-80%) in another plant in either Ohio or Alabama for training until their assigned plan starts equipment installation
Estimated Salary Range:
- $73,300 - $104,500 annually

- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
- All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
