Integrator- Operations Shift VNM
Basic Job Functions:
The specialist is responsible at a crew level for meeting crew Theory of Constraint (TOC) & Operations Command Center (CC) metrics (such as process yields, module efficiency, module wattage, Throughputs, WIP & NCP management) and driving timely corrective actions in closing crew gaps.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum Associates degree in technical discipline or 2-5 years First Solar supervisor experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline preferred or manufacturing experience requirements.
- 2 years manufacturing supervision or engineering experience preferred.
- 2-5 years manufacturing continuous improvement or leadership/management experience in electrical, mechanical, and chemical industrial applications.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, and chemical industrial applications (work experience or internship).
- Understands and can apply structured problem solving (ex. Green Belt, Kaizen, etc.).
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Safety First mindset.
- Basic Data Analysis is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of all production processes and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Basic problem solving and critical thinking skills is preferred.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or chemical systems preferred.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Words and Outlook).
- Proficient in data mining systems, such as: Report Manager, SAS, TABLEAU, POWER BI and JMP.
- Understanding of production control systems, equipment run-rate, Theory of Constraints, WIP management and floor layout interaction.
- Understanding of direct and indirect material list, consumption POR, replenishment, storage, and tracking system.
- Proven ability to train and develop associates.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to think outside the box and to develop unique and timely solutions.
- Experience and working knowledge of continuous improvement tools is preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all safety procedures and 5S standards.
- Abilities to take strategy and convert into actionable deliverables to meet daily, weekly, and monthly P90.
- Is responsible for effective communication, fostering teamwork and cross functional management.
- Monitors crew KPI’s for respective areas and take necessary actions, as needed, to identify potential risks to safety, throughput or quality and help define and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinates, schedules, and prioritizes production related activities, personnel, projects, planning and other functions within various crews and support departments.
- Leads and drives plant operations action items to closure with functional owners to remove constraints for 24X7 operations. Provide assessment for operation recovery and assignment of headcount and WIP movement.
- Coordinates with functional managers for creation of new change request throughout the 24X7 operation with emphasis on standardized practices to minimize capacity lost.
- Contributes to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operations.
- Point of contact for coater, submodule or finishing operations.
- First line of defense for device IV/Efficiency and yield issues troubleshooting in shift. Review all key process input and output parameters, commonality study to trigger fast mixing test, and perform next level analysis to isolate the possible contributing process before escalating to engineering.
- Utilizes Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodology to maximize throughput. Monitor and coordinates Work In Process (WIP) optimization between manufacturing units or across different plants in meeting shift Throughput targets. Drive manufacturing execution team and support groups to meet the desired target on Operational Efficiency (OE) and Machine Availability (MA).
- Coordinates and drives respective area tools utilization, availability or cycle time improvement projects or related issues with regards to coater, submodule or finishing operations such as headcount planning and development, material allocation, upgrade activities, ETA execution and yield improvement.
- Effectively utilizes support teams to find root cause and resolve issues to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
- Reviews and approves respective area process change work instructions to ensure manufacturing viability.
- Provides technical support to operations training team for development of training plans and reinforcement of existing procedures.
Reporting Relationships:
- This position reports to the Lead – Operations Integration.
- This position will have no direct reports.
Travel:
- Up to 10% of global travel is expected.

- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
- All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
