OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Project Manager works within the strategic initiatives team to identify, collect, curate, and organize knowledge to generate new insights and provide guidance about equitable program and policy design and implementation in one or more of ECC’s workstreams: Equitable Building Decarbonization; Workforce Development and Economic Inclusion; and Community Climate Resilience. This is a government-funded position lasting three years. However, the successful candidate will be supported in growing their portfolio within the organization.
The Project Manager is responsible for producing resources, delivering training & technical assistance (TA), and supporting the evaluation of programs involving collaborations among government agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs), and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, highly organized and creative individual willing to demonstrate a thoughtful and strategic approach to create equitable, healthy and sustainable communities. They will possess a unique combination of curiosity, technological savvy, excellent interpersonal skills, creating systems and the ability to organize information for clients and community constituents and run multiple projects. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to social and racial justice and building thriving, inclusive communities.
Location: Remote. Travel is required.

Salary: $75,000 to $80,000
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Curating knowledge to support planning and implementation of climate programs and policies, with a focus on frontline community leadership and economic inclusion
- Assess and recommend policy mechanisms & language to enhance workforce and economic opportunities through climate policies or supporting programs that promote high road labor, contracting and procurement standards, contractor and supplier diversity. This could include project labor agreements and community workforce agreements
- Conduct surveys of residents, contractors, and other stakeholders to determine needs surrounding technical, financial, and logistical requirements
- Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to answer research questions about local and regional contexts, in particular to estimate potential impacts, both positive and negative, for stakeholders and members of a given community
- Contribute to methodologies created for capturing equity indicators for different jurisdictions
- Tailoring and delivering training using ECC and partner frameworks
- Be a "thought partner" for multiple stakeholders types and ECC colleagues
Conducting outreach and coordination between community-based organizations, staff of relevant government jurisdictions, and other partners
- Contribute to baseline assessments of prior community engagement on climate policy
- Support facilitation and evaluation to align community and jurisdictional priorities Contribute to the creation of detailed project plans to include milestones, responsibilities, schedules, and associated logistical considerations
Project administration and management
- Complete client requests and ensure scopes, budgets, and schedules are on track and progress towards project management
- Assist in business development activities, including preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Monitor and coordinate with colleagues to fulfill requests for ECC involvement in different jurisdictions
- Regular knowledge-sharing with ECC colleagues and application of resources/best practices across ECC programs
The candidate is part of ECC's Strategic Initiatives team, reporting to the Senior Program Manager. This position will also be supported by the Director of Advisory Services, Chief Program Officer, and regional ECC teams.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must have excellent skills in facilitation, research, writing, visual presentation, and critical thinking.
Minimum of 3 years of project management or related experience
● Bachelor’s degree required;
● Background in social research is a plus, including experience with, policy analysis and reviewing technical reports
● Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
● Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
● Ability to multitask, be organized, and flexible
● Commitment to the goal of advancing equity and economic inclusion in climate action
