Senior Manager, Supplier Integration - Electrical, Instrumentation and Control

The role of the Supplier Integration Management team is to integrate suppliers into the SPARC project from the early stages of product design, ensure flawless execution of the procurement contracts and optimize schedule, cost, and quality.
The Sr Manager, Supplier Integration leads the team in charge of supply chain activities for Electrical Systems and Instrumentation & Control (I&C): strategic sourcing, tactical procurement and supplier management. They build and develop the team of the buyers, procurement engineers and Supplier Integration Managers embedded within the project teams and are accountable for meeting the internal customers’ needs. The Sr Manager, Supplier Integration position is a working manager role, and will be hands on in the development, implementation, and execution of sourcing strategies for SPARC and beyond.

This team member will:
- Recruit, train, support, develop and coach the members of the team
- Have management responsibility for meeting cost, quality and delivery objectives
- In close coordination with the engineering leads for Electrical and I&C, plan and assign work, manage the workload and define priorities as required
- Act as an escalation point to solve issues
- Ensure process adherence for strategic sourcing and purchase orders placement/management
- Coordinate planning and scheduling activities with the assigned planners in a matrixed organization (functionally reporting to the head of Supply Planning)
- Report out on project status, risks and issues to the supply chain and the systems leadership teams
- Drive sourcing projects, coordinating cross-functionally
- Negotiate short and long-term agreements for parts, subassemblies, finished goods, equipment, and/or services
- Create and manage purchase orders
- Monitor suppliers throughout the execution of the contracts, with support from the assigned Supplier Development engineers
- Support cost savings initiatives, lead time improvement projects, and quality improvement projects
- Define or collaborate on project procurement or commodity strategies
- Visit suppliers as necessary to conduct business reviews or check on project milestones
- Negotiate internally and externally at high levels or with persons of influence frequently
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance or other related fields
- 10+ years’ related work experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or other relevant supplier-focused environment
- Proven experience in supporting critical new product introduction activities for highly technical products
- Successful experience managing and developing a team
- Deep understanding of supply chain and ERP best practices
- Ability to communicate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers in a collaborative way
- Ability to negotiate complex contracts
- Organizational and project management skills
- Customer service mindset and entrepreneurial spirit
- Exceptional creative problem solving and critical thinking skills

Additional preferred experience and/or qualifications:
- Master’s degree in the field of Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance or other related field
- Previous experience designing or sourcing equipment for electrical systems and/or instrument and control
- Previous experience in a high growth environment
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
- Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
