Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the client's design and engineering teams in the U.S. as well as internal cross-functional teams to design, produce, and test relevant products or components according to customer product specifications, delivering the final product on time. Ensure clear and smooth communication throughout the product development process to meet delivery goals.
  • Proficient in reading and creating 3D and 2D drawings, and capable of identifying and proposing corrections for any issues in the design drawings.
  • Organize and provide reasonable solutions based on product functions and requirements, including related processes, costs, quality, and schedules.
  • Perform tolerance analysis for parts or assemblies to ensure they meet assembly, functionality, and appearance requirements.
  • Create and maintain design and production-related documentation, including specifications/drawings/fixtures required for manufacturing designated parts/components.
  • Evaluate components, subsystems, and complete assemblies, and conduct comprehensive analysis of the results.
  • Work closely with NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing departments to optimize part and assembly designs for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
  • Conduct failure analysis during early development stages, identify root causes, and provide improvement plans for any issues that arise.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields.
  • Familiar with the mechanical structure design of consumer electronics products (experience in collaboration on displays, acoustics, antennas, electronics/RF, batteries, etc., is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in product design development or mass production is preferred.
  • Familiar with automation assembly equipment, assembly processes, CNC machining, polishing, laser welding, PVD, anodizing, sandblasting, and dispensing processes is a plus.
  • Experience with robotics, drones, or motor control systems development is a plus.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD modeling, with experience in NX/Unigraphics preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, experimental design (DOE), and statistical process control methods and theories (SPC, CPK).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
  • Team-oriented with leadership capabilities, with prior experience leading teams to complete projects (consideration for potential managerial roles within the team).
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to 25%), with overseas education or work experience preferred.

Business Operations Lead

  • Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with customer engineering and internal cross-functional team members to design, build, and test component or final product.
    • Investigate and develop design concepts to achieve product performance requirements.
    • Define, build, and characterize physical prototypes on assigned mechanical/electrical/thermo packages/components.
    • Perform tolerance analysis on parts designs to ensure requirements for assembly, functionality, and cosmetics can be met.
    • Create design documentation including specifications and drawings required for manufacturing assigned part/assemblies.
    • Conduct performance evaluation on components, subsystems, and full assemblies as well as perform thorough analysis of results.
    • Work directly with NPI and manufacturing to optimize part and assembly design for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
    • Clearly communicate results through informal peer reviews as well as presenting at formal design reviews.
    • Work closely with manufacturing to define, specify, and validate test equipment / processes related to assigned part and/or assembly designs.
    • Support prototype and production part and assembly builds, both remotely and onsite at factory.
    • Collaborate with customer and internal team, to develop and validate new manufacturing or assembly procedures to meet product performance requirements.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend design changes to prevent future occurrences.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fields.
    • 3+ years of experience in commodity management, procurement, or supply chain in manufacturing or consumer electronics.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical components, cost analysis, and supplier negotiations.
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
